Our objective is the research and development of chemical and sensory quality parameters that allow us to increase the added value of food, through the control of the production processes from the raw materials to the selling and consumption of the final product.
Our research lines are supplement, with coordination together with other research groups of our university. We are currently part of the interdisciplinary group ChemoSens (Chemometrics and Sensorics for analytical solutions), recognised by the Agency for the Management of University and Research Grants of the Government of Catalonia, and we collaborate regularly with other researchers, both nationally and internationally.
We are experts in teaching analytical chemistry and food chemistry at the university, specifally on the following degrees:
We regularly participate in lifelong learning actions, having given ad hoc courses on chemical and sensory analysis to experts in the oenological and food sector, but also to primary and secondary school students. We are active in the preparation of dissemination actions that bring our work closer to society because we understand that education in the field of food is key to good social development and essential in the transition towards a circular economy.
