Laura Aceña

Assistant Professor

Graduate in Food Science and Technology and in Chemical Sciences from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2000 and 2002, respectively), she obtained her PhD from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in 2011. Since 2005 she has been a member of the Instrumental Sensometry research group and participates in the groups's academic courses at both the Faculty of Oenology and the Superior Technical School of Chemical Engineering of the URV. She was a lecturer professor between 2011 and 2016 and since 2016 she has been an assistant professor.

Her research focuses mainly on the chemical and sensory analysis of food: wine, beer, olive oil, nuts,.... She is a specialist in the technique of chromatographic analysis with olfactometric detection. In addition to participating as a researcher in all the competitive research projects of the iSens group since she joined it, she has also participated in most of the transfer contracts signed with different companies in the food sector.
